Hands-On Labs
Hands-On Labs¶
Three short labs that take you from an empty directory to a published, composable pack. They are ordered: each lab assumes you finished the one before it. Every lab ends with a completion check — a concrete observation that tells you it worked — so you never have to guess whether you are done.
| Lab | Time | You will | Completion check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lab 1 — Your First Pack | 15 min | Scaffold a pack, run it in a dev session, publish it, and see it in the Hub | Your command returns a result from the CLI and your pack appears in the Hub terminal |
| Lab 2 — A Multi-Pack Pipeline | 30 min | Compose a command from a second pack into a three-stage pipeline and run it | The pipeline run reports SUCCESS with one result per stage |
| Lab 3 — Publish and Share a Pack | 30 min | Add listing metadata, choose a visibility level before first publish, and publish two versions | huitzo pack list shows the visibility you chose, and you can say who cannot see the pack |
Who these are for¶
Developers and technical evaluators who are new to Huitzo. You should be comfortable with Python and a terminal. You do not need to run any Huitzo infrastructure.
Before you start¶
- A Huitzo account (sign up at huitzo.ai) with developer mode enabled (
huitzo account developer-mode) — publishing is refused otherwise. - The Huitzo CLI installed and signed in — follow Installation, then
huitzo login. - A working directory you can create files in.
How the labs relate to the guides¶
The labs are the guided path; the guides are the reference depth. Each lab links to the guide that explains the concept behind a step, so you can stop and read more without losing your place.
- Your First Pack — the longer walkthrough behind Lab 1
- Pack Manifest: pipelines — the field reference behind Lab 2
- Pack Manifest: visibility and listing — the field reference behind Lab 3
- CLI Reference — every command used here
Where to go after the labs¶
